A blog posting from earlier in our trip. In the German Alps not far from Salzburg, Austria.

From Prague we took the bus and train to Freilassing, Germany, where we picked up a car. A short drive took us high into the Alps. Everywhere we looked was a fabulous view. Fields, small farms, Fall colors, sheep, cows and the majestic mountains.

Our B and B was a beautiful Bavarian home. In the morning we woke to the sound of cow bells.

The dairy farm consists of six acres of pasture and 15 acres of woods.

This was the view from our balcony.

The second highest peak in Germany.

Grandpa bringing the six cows in from pasture for milking.

Grandma helped guide the cows to the barn.

The cows respected the boundary set by a light rope.

This often photographed church is located in Ramsau, near our B and B.

In the evening we would walk down a couple hundred yards to eat dinner at this Gasthaus.
